Houston Astros Top Prospect Forrest Whitley Suspended 50-Game For PED Use

Astros prospect Forrest Whitley suspended 50 games for violation of MiLB drug program

MLB announced Wednesday morning that Houston Astros pitching prospect Forrest Whitley has been suspended for 50 games for violating a minor league drug prevention program.

It's unfortunate for the Astros, as Whitley will likely not make his major league debut this season. He was expected to start the season in Corpus Christi, with a good chance to reach Triple-A Fresno and possibly pitch in the majors by the end of the season, according to the Houston Chronicle.

"We're disappointed in the outcome".

Sony chases SoftBank and Toyota in taxi-hailing fray
Sony's ride-hailing service will be based on its artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the company said in a press release . While Khosrowshahi didn't announce any specific deals, he made clear that Uber would make a renewed push to expand in Japan.

"We do everything we can to educate our guys and keep them from making decisions that result in suspensions", Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow told reporters. But in this case obviously, as an organization, we're going to suffer a little bit.

What Forrest tested positive for hasn't been revealed, but Fox San Antonio's Chuck Miketinac says a source told him he was given a stimulant to help him stay awake for a long drive. In the Whitley release, the league was vague. He signed with the Astros out of high school after he led the Mules to the state finals in his senior season.
