NASCAR announces first snow-related postponement since 1993

Overall Busch gave the course a nod of approval

Snow that fell Saturday night has effectively made racing impossible today, and NASCAR has postponed both the Cup Series and Truck Series races until Monday, March 26.

Sports reported that the truck race resumes at 11 a.m. and the cup race at 2 p.m., both on Monday.

The precipitation got worse overnight and turned to legitimate snow, which caused NASCAR to push both races into next week. Nearby areas in the mountains received several inches of snow, and getting fans - at least some who would have had to navigate unsafe conditions - into the snow-covered facility, which has mostly grass parking lots, could have been hard.
