Tesla Recalls 123000 Model S Sedans Over Faulty Bolts

Tesla Inc Is Sinking Today

Tesla is recalling 123,000 Model S sedans-its largest recall ever-to fix a power steering component in cars built before April 2016.

Tesla says the problem happens infrequently in places where salt is used to clear snow and ice from roads. In 2017 Tesla recalled 53,000 Model X and Model S vehicles due to problems with the parking brake, and in 2015, the company recalled 90,000 Model S cars because of defective seatbelts.

The SpaceX brainbox has seen Tesla share prices plummet by 12 percent on the month and his new electric cars come under fire over a design issue in a power steering component that had been provided to the company by a supplier. To add to Tesla's woes the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a fatal crash involving a Model X that occurred last Friday in Mountain View, California. This recall does not apply to any Model X or Model 3 vehicles. Tesla described the recall as a proactive measure and said that crashes have been reported caused by the fault. As a result of the news, Tesla's shares fell almost 4 per cent in after-hours trade on Thursday. The issue can make the vehicle more hard to steer at low speeds and to parallel park, and it should "not materially affect control at high speed", the spokesperson added. The company's financials are reportedly beginning to look increasingly worrying, Tesla had $3.4 billion in cash and equivalents at the end of past year and raised $550 million from bonds backed by lease payments this February, but not all of that is available for spending.

The models affected have been built before April 2016, meaning the entire first generation of the model. However, they claim that it will not affect control at high speed.

2018's biggest mystery: Who bit Beyoncé?!
Rihanna , James Franco, French Montana and Diddy were all supposedly there - and were all written off as innocent by the magazine. Who would dare - narcotically induced or not - to bite bloody Beyoncé in the face? Tiffany added: 'She was like, " Tiffany , no".

Our records show that you own a Model S affected by this voluntary recall. The retrofit will typically take around an hour, the company said.

None of this is good news for Tesla, its employees and investors, and the company's customers.

The corrosion has only been noticed in places where winter roads are frequently salted to melt snow or ice, but all Model S vehicles with the part will be retrofitted in a protective move, according to Tesla.
