FBI Sought Trump 'Access Hollywood' Tape Records in Michael Cohen Raid

Oh, So The FBI Was Really Looking For Information About The Access Hollywood Tape?

President Trump's personal Attorney Michael Cohen made a brief comment to CBS News Wednesday following Federal Bureau of Investigation raids on his homes and office earlier this week. Those emails, they said, indicated that Cohen was "performing little to no legal work, and that zero emails were exchanged with President Trump".

In the filing with a court in NY, prosecutors blacked out a section describing what laws they believe Trump attorney Michael Cohen has broken, but they said the "crimes being investigated involve acts of concealment" and suspected fraud. "We know this to be true, you are not dreaming". But, as the Times notes, the fact that agents were looking for documents related to the tape exposed a "new front" in the investigation into Cohen by the United States attorney's office in Manhattan.

The lawyers say the records are protected by attorney-client privilege and they want to review the documents before prosecutors analyze them.

"This court should not accept Cohen's invitation to make new law and convert a duly authorized search warrant into a subpoena", prosecutors said, calling it a "dangerous precedent" to let defense lawyers delay a probe "in a case of national interest". At the time, Cohen was a top lawyer at the Trump Organization and not formally affiliated with the campaign.

The interest in Cohen's communications with Trump suggests that the investigation is delving into the president's actions, legal experts said.

Purchasing chief Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz, the longest-serving top executive at VW, will leave the company, the carmaker said. Additionally, Porsche sports auto division head Oliver Blume is being promoted to the top management body of the entire group.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents were also looking for information about money paid to two women who claim they had an affair with Mr. Trump before he was president.

Stormy Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti was also in the courtroom. He then followed with a suggestive tweet that "the weather forecast for Monday looks very Stormy".

In their search warrant, federal investigators asked Cohen to turn over any communications the two men had about a 2005 "Access Hollywood" tape that captured Trump boasting about grabbing women's body parts, according to a person familiar with the investigation.

Daniels has publicly stated the payment was hush money to insure her silence about a 2006 affair with Trump.

The White House has consistently said Trump denies either affair.
