Ky. Busch wins second straight race with last-second pass

Kyle Busch signs autographs after qualifying on the pole for the NASCAR Cup Series auto race Friday

For Busch, Monday's victory is his 45th in 470 career Cup Series starts.

JOHNSON'S TOP FIVE: Jimmie Johnson was pleased with earning his first top-five finish of the season, and hoped to quiet some of his critics.

Arguably no driver overcame more obstacles over the two days than Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Mooresville's Kyle Busch is now in the best of both worlds.

Bubba's outburst: Darrell "Bubba" Wallace led for the first time in his Cup career, staying out front from lap 375 to 380 in Richard Petty Motorsports' bright red and blue No. 43.

It didn't last long though.

Around that time, NASCAR brought out the yellow flag for a brief weather delay.

Darrell Wallace Jr. was one of the drivers who came out aggressively when the race resumed Monday, taking the field three-wide at one point for position and passing veterans Busch and Brad Keselowski to lead his first laps in a Monster Energy Series vehicle. Keselowski also won stage one.

Stage 2: After running 79 laps in Stage 2 on Sunday, NASCAR ultimately postponed the remainder of the race until Monday afternoon.

Keselowski passed Kyle Larson with seven laps remaining in the second stage with a bump-and-run move. He finally caught Larson with five laps left, bumped him out of the way and scooted by.

All six of his wins have come after he started from fourth or lower. "This sport's insane ", he said. "This sport's insane . They barely made it, with mechanics seen snapping pieces of the car's body back into place with about a minute to spare.

Busch said after the race that he didn't have the best vehicle, but "we had the best auto right at the end".

Larson clearly had the fastest auto during both days of the rain-delayed race ran over two days, but Kyle Busch once again showed why he has become the most successful driver of this generation at the high-banked.533-mile track.

NASCAR announced the race will start at noon Monday and will be broadcast on FOX (PRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

In the end, the unfortunate recipient was Kyle Larson.

And that might not have been the most unusual thing that happened in a race that took about 26 hours to complete.

Busch teammate Denny Hamlin had to pit while leading because of a loose wheel, finishing a lap down in 14th.

Rain plagued the eighth Cup Series race of the season throughout Sunday. Driver intro will take place at 12:40 p.m.

The forecast calls for cloudy skies with temperatures in the low 40s, but no rain.

Newman vs. Larson: Contact from Ryan Newman sent Kyle Larson sliding through the center of the track on lap 324.
