Two youths were critically injured after they were run over by the CRPF vehicle during clashes between protestors and government forces in Nowhatta in Srinagar on Friday.

The death of a youth from summer capital Srinagar, who was run over by a CRPF vehicle outside Jamia mosque, has triggered a fresh wave of outrage and protests across Kashmir.

Kaiser, a resident of Namchabal Fateh Kadalwas admitted at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) breathed his last on Friday afternoon, said hospital sources.

The troops also damaged sixty-seven (67) residential houses and disgraced six (6) women during the month.

The other two youth remain critical. After both his parents died in 2010, Bhat and his two sisters had been living with their aunt in Srinagar's Dalgate.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah criticised the security forces, tweeting that they now "drive their jeeps right over protestors". They said the Pakistani shelling was "indiscriminate and unprovoked" and was not just targeting paramilitary outposts but also villages.
