Trump calls Department of Justice report a 'total disaster' for Comey

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on Thursday night zeroed in on a key fact about former FBI Director James Comey's investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails that has gone largely overlooked in the new Department of Justice inspector general report.

As per the Fox news, the report drafted by Horowitz retrieved new text messages exchanged between agent Peter Strzok, and Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer Lisa Page who are considered to be in a relationship.

Trump said the report showed Comey "lied a tremendous amount" and said the IG's report showed "bias against me and tens of millions of my followers", citing a text message by Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Peter Strzok to Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer Lisa Page.

The Director's pledge comes hours after the IG report revealed new text messages between DOJ employees, with one vowing to "stop" Donald Trump from winning the presidency.

"One more thing: She might be our next president", Page said in a February 24, 2016, text to Strzok. For example, Peter Strzok wasn't going to stop Trump from being elected by anything having to do with the Clinton investigation, which was already over by August 2016.

He said it's time to "clean up the FBI" and leave Trump alone.

The ministry has approved the holidays from June 15 to June 18, a notification regarding which has been released on Friday. Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) also will remain closed for three days from Sunday, June 17 in view of Eid al-Fitr holidays.

In January previous year, Horowitz had announced to launch a probe into the department and the FBI's handling of the investigation into Clinton's private email server.

"The President was briefed on the (inspector general's) report earlier today and it reaffirmed the President's suspicions about Comey's conduct and the political bias among some of the members of the FBI", Sanders said during Thursday's press briefing.

FBI Director Chris Wray told reporters the FBI accepted the report's findings and was making changes, including requiring further training for FBI employees and re-emphasizing the importance of objectivity. "The report does identify errors of judgment, violations of or even disregard for policy, and decisions that at the very least - with the benefit of hindsight - were not the best choices", Wray said.

Strzok and Page would go on to work for Special Counsel Robert Mueller's "Russiagate" investigation, before being let go for their partisan text messages. The report says Comey was insubordinate and departed from established protocol numerous times. He said the texts between the agent and lawyer might not have been good, but the IG's office deemed there to be no evidence that these exchanges or anything other political considerations had any effect in the Clinton investigation's outcome.

"I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey's letter, on October 28, and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the mind of people who were inclined to vote for me but got scared off", Clinton said at a 2017 event titled Women for Women International.
