Powerful Republican Pulled Into Ohio State Molestation Scandal

Jim Jordan Allegations against me aren't true

Jordan, a former collegiate wrestling star, was an Ohio State assistant wrestling coach from 1986 to 1994. But he's not hiding that fact as he moves foward with these allegations against Strauss and Jordan.

"I am not a flawless person, but ask any of the wrestlers and they will tell you everybody knew about Doc", Yetts said.

The office of 4th district congressman Jim Jordan says newly released records show attempts to schedule an interview with him as part of an Ohio State sex abuse investigation were sent to a non-existent email address.

"Coach Jordan knew what was going on, 100 percent", Mr. Yetts said. No question in my mind. "Jim also never took shortcuts or ducked challenges", Kemp said. "He's an outstanding man".

"What happened drove me out of the sport", Dailey told NBC.

Jordan, a conservative Republican and former assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State, is being accused of failing to prevent the team doctor from sexually abusing boys on the wrestling team.

"Mike wrestled with us, was a friend, but something's changed", Jordan told reporters.

Another former wrestler, Dunyasha Yetts, told NBC that he and other students reported Strauss's alleged behavior to Jordan.

A source in Jordan's office, who described the emails as " freakish, seemingly unhinged", told ABC News the lawmaker received the emails on his personal account and they were turned over by his staff to Capitol Police for their expert assessment. "It was very common knowledge in the locker room that if you went to Dr. Strauss for anything, you would have to pull your trousers down".

The fourth former Buckeye wrestler told the news outlet he told Jordan directly about it.

"Dunyasha comes back and tells Jimmy, 'Seriously, why do I have to pull down my trousers for a thumb injury?'" Dailey recalled. He said Strauss tried to pull down his wrestling shorts when Yetts visited him about a thumb injury.

Dr. Richard Strauss, who died in 2005, would allegedly shower with the athletes and inappropriately touch them during appointments, according to NBC News, which first reported Tuesday that three former wrestlers said Jordan would have had to have known about it.

Jordan, a close ally of the President's, has emphatically denied having any knowledge at the time that the university's sports doctor was molesting the wrestlers.

Dailey said it was "hurtful" Jordan is denying any knowledge of the alleged abuse.

Since Ohio State launch its own investigation into the abuse allegations, student-athletes from 14 sports have come forward with similar sexual misconduct accusations against Strauss plus patients from Strauss' private medical practice he ran in Columbus in the 90s.
