Wimbledon 2018: Simona Halep loses to Hsieh Su-wei in third round

Spain's Rafael Nadal returns to Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin in their men's singles second round match on the fourth day of the 2018 Wimbledon Championships at The All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon southwest London

German fourth seed Alexander Zverev and women's world number one Simona Halep wilted in soaring heat and crashed out of Wimbledon in the third round on Saturday.

This year, four of the top-10 seeds were beaten in the opening round itself, including 2017 US Open champion and French Open finalist Sloane Stephens.

Zverev, playing for the third day in succession, was shocked by Latvian qualifier Ernests Gulbis, ranked 138, in a gruelling five sets, 7-6 (7/2), 4-6, 5-7, 6-3, 6-0.

"I didn't think I could win after losing the third set and having served for the set, but he got exhausted and I played smarter, so I am really glad", Gulbis said.

Halep has already played 44 matches on the WTA Tour this year, reaching the Australian Open final and becoming the first Romanian for 40 years to win a Grand Slam title when she prevailed in the French Open final.

"This is my list every year for my team". Here I enjoy the strawberries, the crowd, the shopping and taking afternoon tea.

Hsieh is apparently a discerning foodie, showing little appetite when McDonalds was mentioned as a potential destination. In total so far, she has spent just over two and a half hours on the court at this year's Wimbledon. "I need to ask my nephew first", she grinned.

"Inside, I was, like, dying", the 24-year-old Belgian said.

Hsieh refused to be beaten at the All England Club on Saturday after emerging a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 victor, despite dropping serve seven times and saving a match point.

The 32-year-old will make her first appearance in the Wimbledon last 16 when she faces Slovakian world number 33 Dominika Cibulkova on Monday.

Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said the law was binding and "for the time being our stance is that we are right". Dozens of people protested in front of the presidential palace Tuesday before Gersdorf's meeting with Duda.

Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro also reached the fourth round for the first time since 2013. It's going to start a week earlier than she wanted after she gave away a big lead, wasted a match point and lost at Wimbledon, joining the procession of top women on the way out.

"I think all the girls not silly". I was too exhausted.

"Of course, 2008 was a very important moment for me when I achieved the world No. 1 for the first time in my career because in some way I felt that I deserved it", he explained. Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki and defending Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza exited in the second, while Madison Keys, Venus Williams and Halep were ousted in the third.

Still, it was not easy finishing off the most significant victory of her career.

"I don't learn how to be giant killer". "I just try to run as much as I can, try to catch every ball". You know anything can happen on the court.

It's better news for the big names in the men's draw. "I like to run".

But if she beats Halep, it won't be double lobsters all round.

"I think mentally I was exhausted". I think because I was exhausted, because I'm exhausted, I couldn't stay focused for every ball.

Her practice partners have had a hard time coping with Hsieh's unique approach, which she readily acknowledges.
