Emery respects Ozil's Germany choice, says Arsenal is his 'home'

Mesut Ozil is all smiles during an Arsenal training session in Singapore

Unai Emery said in the past that he was going to rejuvenate Mesut Ozil in the upcoming season as he hopes that the German global will be at his best in his first season because he hopes that it could be a success.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says he spoke with Mesut Ozil after the midfielder's retirement from playing for Germany.

"It is with a heavy heart and after much consideration that because of recent events, I will no longer be playing for Germany at global level whilst I have this feeling of racism and disrespect", he said.

Indeed, it is a saga that will lead to uncomfortable questions for the German football authorities and, arguably, for the nation as a whole.

Ozil released a three-part statement on Sunday, hitting out at the German Football Association (DFB), its chief Reinhard Grindel, the media and some fans after being widely condemned for meeting with Erdogan prior to the tournament in Russian Federation.

Away from the pitch, then, all seems to be as it was and Ozil will surely be buoyed by the support in his disagreement with the German FA, which has "emphatically rejected" his allegations of racism.

Gundogan subsequently apologized, although Ozil had remained silent on the issue until his series of scathing statements on Sunday. Germany midfielder Ozil has announced his retirement from global soccer, alleging racial discrimination.

New Ferrari CEO will be former tobacco executive
But his condition deteriorated sharply in recent days when he suffered massive complications that were not divulged. Ferrari NV, with Marchionne as chairman, begins trading in NY with a market value of about $10 billion.

"I will no longer stand for being a scapegoat for his (Grindel's) incompetence and inability to do his job properly", he said. As a team that's all we can do. He was criticized for posing for photos with Erdogan before the tournament and Turkish elections. It is also true that Ozil was among the poorest performers among a poor German team at the World Cup in Russian Federation.

The Germany playmaker had been granted an extended summer holiday following his involvement in the World Cup with his national team, although Joachim Low's men were knocked out in the group stage.

Ozil said he received threats and hate mail after the photographs with Erdogan were published.

Turkey's Erdogan decries "racist attitude" against Ozil. Ozil is, however, in line to face PSG on Saturday.

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admits president Uli Hoeness has never liked Mesut Ozil. Added to that is a conspicuous silence from Ozil's German teammates, who, perhaps aware of the sensitive nature of the debate, have largely steered clear of comment.

Ozil chose to cut short his holiday to join up with his Arsenal team-mates in Singapore for pre-season and the former Real Madrid star is ready to put a turbulent summer behind him.

And for us the normality helps him to feel good every day in the training sessions.
