DJI Mavic 2 drone leak confirms Pro and Zoom models

Here's the original Mavic Pro for comparison. CNET

In a statement, Argos said: "Unfortunately we were informed of the delay in the launch of the DJI Mavic 2 after our new catalogues were printed". First, a "zoom" model (a configuration DJI is calling the Mavic 2 Zoom) that can shoot as wide as 28mm and as tight as 48mm. As far as standard features across the two go, you'll get a bump in fly time that extends to 31-minutes, a five-mile range of flight and a host of new collision detecting sensors that beam out from all directions of the drone (a feature DJ introduced with the Mavic Air).

The prominent ad in the catalogue was spotted and captured by Twitter users, and appears to confirm some details of previous leaks about the drone, and dispel others (such as a removable gimbal).

The leaks emerged after Argos failed to remove pre planned content that was not released due to DJI moving their launch events at short notice. The current Mavic Pro and Mavic Pro Platinum only have downward and forward facing obstacle detection. The biggest surprise is that the Mavic 2 will come in two distinct models, Pro and Zoom. While there's no mention of recording capabilities we can not imagine anything less than 4K. There's also a dolly zoom on the, er, Zoom version.

But it's still the first time a sensor of this kind will feature in a drone this capable and small.

Verstappen 'not in the holiday mood' after Hungary retirement
Verstappen was forced to retire from fifth place in the early stages. "I was very angry over the radio", he admitted. For sure the first week I'm not really enjoying it because of the end of your last race, but that's how it is.

One thing we don't know, however, is price. It's clear though that DJI wants to talk about these two new drones soon, so don't expect those details to stay in the dark for much longer.

The leaks do not reveal the pricing, and DJI still hasn't announced an official launch date after it cancelled it's July 18 launch event "See the Bigger Picture".

A separate leak from a German magazine in July showed a Mavic 2 Enterprise, allowing for larger payloads. We're not sure to what extent DJI's partnership with Hasselblad is that resulted in this camera, so this is something we'll just have to wait and see.
