Conor McGregor to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in Las Vegas

Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov Announced For UFC 229

At 26-0, Russia's Nurmagomedov has been untouchable as a pro, and his recent wins over Michael Johnson, Edson Barboza and Al Iaquinta have only strengthened his place as one of the greatest lightweights ever.

Nurmagomedov took McGregor's lightweight title in April, after the Irishman was stripped of it due to inactivity.

Negotiations for the biggest fight in UFC history are now ongoing and a deal is expected to be reached in the coming days.

McGregor will avoid jail time and instead serve five days of community service and attent anger management classes. The target of that assault was none other than Nurmagomedov himself.

That fact has led many to wonder when the most-anticipated fight in all of mixed martial arts will be announced.

Former two-weight world champion McGregor has wanted to face Nurmagomedov for some time.

29-year-old Russian Nurmagomedov later invited McGregor to settle things out in the Octagon and it has now become a reality.

Crystal Palace Digging In To Keep Chelsea and Tottenham Target Wilfried Zaha
It is thought that Chelsea want to sign Zaha as a pre-emptive replacement for Eden Hazard, who is keen on a move to Real Madrid. But, according to Guardian Sport , Crystal Palace are determined that they will not sell Zaha.

So should Nurmagomedov and McGregor put pen to paper in the next few days, their bout could very well be announced at the event.

White didn't disclose terms of the deal that was reached.

McGregor has been absent from the sport for two years.

UFC chief White has already said he is expecting the bout to sell in the region of 2 million pay-per-view buys, meaning it would beat the current record of 1.65 million for McGregor's second fight with Nate Diaz in August 2016.

Diaz didn't seem happy about the surprise announcement of McGregor's next bout.

UFC held its 25th anniversary quarterly press conference on Friday in Los Angeles leading into the UFC 227 event set to take place this weekend in the Staples Center.
