Bachelorette Becca Kufrin on fiance Garrett Yrigoyen's racist, transphobic past

'The Bachelorette' Finale: Who Did Becca Kufrin Choose?

Before the breakup and proposal, Becca took a moment to explain where she's coming from, "I feel like I could be happy with either guy and both of them would be a right choice for me".

After months of rumors, Becca gave her final rose to controversial contestant Garrett. "I got to see who he is, his heart and his soul", she said. The family is charmed enough.

After she professed her love for Garrett, he popped the question, and she said yes!

There's a cheesy montage of Becca and Garrett at the bow of the boat taking in the scenery. Horstmann then asked her, "What changed?" Becca's Uncle Chuck was on hand to pry into Garrett's past; specifically, Garrett's extremely brief first marriage.

"I think that we could be right and we could be partners, but I just think there's a better fit for us out there", she added. Horstmann admitted to being nervous before meeting Kufrin's family, who said that he looked like a movie star when he was walking up to them. And she could see herself doing the same back to him. Then Uncle Chuck asks Blake about Garrett, which Blake also did not appreciate.

Final dates: When dolphins leaped out of the sea during Becca's and Garrett's last date, as they lounged on a yacht, it seemed like a sign. Had to wipe his face with a washcloth saying he has go through this "alone, alone, alone". Later, Becca and Garrett talk in a dolphin-free zone and chat about their future and how they are "weird" (readers: they are not) and about what their life would be like together.

But this year's festival also featured a couple of on-the-run metalheads who were clearly enticed by a stunning bill of bands. A patrol auto accompanied the retirees back to the care home as a "precautionary measure", Der Spiegel reports .

Harrison pressed Garrett on whether he thought Becca might break up with him after the Instagram situation became public.

Does it even matter? "It is raw. It is real". Obviously she is dumping Blake, but Becca pretends that it's a complete surprise. Luckily, I got to know him for who he is. But in the end, her feelings for Yrigoyen were stronger. So Blake had already gone on about Becca's virtues and had asked her, "Will you let me spend the rest of my life making you smile?" before Becca interrupted him. At least she apologized for ripping his heart out on the beach. "People that are anxious care, and they care deeply", she says.

They both agreed it made them stronger as a couple, though were upset by some of the "really negative things" that people had said about Garrett online.

Garrett proposes and Becca says yes.

"After he gets dumped, Blake with a full on ugly, hysterical cry", Reality Steve tweeted during the finale. Blake and Becca then rehash their conversation, minus the crying. She told The Hollywood Reporter at the time that the likes didn't reflect who he really is and that people should give him a chance. "But I just want to move forward and to learn and to grow and to continue to educate ourselves", Kufrin told the audience Monday night. She then said that she's not ready to say goodbye to Yrigoyen. Why else defend him so vigorously? On the show, we don't have phones or social media. "It was tough, because it wasn't just affecting me, but it was affecting her, and that was hurting me the most". Chris Harrison doesn't push, but instead offers the new couple a mini-van to drive off into the sunset.
