Johnny Depp's new movie pulled from release amid controversy

Johnny Depp Forest Whitaker City of Lies Notorious BIG Biggie Tupac Movie Pulled

Either way, it doesn't sound like we'll be able to see City Of Lies anytime soon.

Now, just one month after Rolling Stone published a scathing article detailing Depp's financial and personal distress, his film about the murder of Notorious B.I.G has been pulled, according to THR. As a result, it's unclear when or if the film will be officially released.

"While Global Road is pulling its film, at least for the time being, Warner Bros.is going full steam ahead with the November tentpole Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, whose ensemble cast includes Depp". Russell Poole in the film - which examines the aftermath of law enforcement examining The Notorious B.I.G.'s March 1997 murder in the wake of Tupac Shakur's October 1996 killing - using the 2003 book LAbyrinth as its source material. Depp previously faced allegations of domestic violence from his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Margot Robbie shares first photo as Sharon Tate
Robbie let the photo of her scarily accurate take on Tate do the talking, keeping the caption simple: "First look". DiCaprio recently shared a sneak peek of his and Pitt's characters dressed in head-to-toe '60s styles.

To make things worse, the recent James Gunn firing seems to have redrawn the rules in Holywood when it comes to personal controversies - all of which doesn't bode too well for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, or the rumours that Disney is now developing Pirates Of The Caribbean 6. We'll know more once Global Road makes a statement, which will probably be sooner rather than later.

Another month, another worsening string of fates for Johnny Depp.

City Of Lies has been shelved, for now. City of Lies was slated to premiere on September 7 but is now undated, a spokesperson for Global Road Entertainment announced. Maybe you can't watch the movie, but you can still watch the trailer.
