Ruby Rose To Play Batwoman For The CW

Ruby Rose Cast As Batwoman In the CW’s DC Crossover & Potential Series

The DC Comics character is set to make her debut during this year's Arrowverse crossover event, which was announced in May.

Batwoman will be armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind. "Vampire Diaries" creator Caroline Dries, who will write and executive produce "Batwoman", is gay. Batwoman will be the first outwardly LGBTQ superhero, male or female, on a comic book TV show, which makes it pretty groundbreaking. The plan is reportedly for Rose to not only appear in the Arrowverse crossover, but also get her own full-length "Batwoman" pilot, rather than the crossover simply serving as a backdoor pilot (the trajectory is similar to what happened when the network introduced "The Flash"). Indeed, Rose, with a tattoo-brandishing badass look and a character-appropriate biography, since she's openly lesbian, will embody the role of Kate Kane/Batwoman for this exciting and potentially groundbreaking CW series.

The CW has found its Batwoman: "Orange Is the New Black" star Ruby Rose will take on the iconic DC Comics role.

Following her breakout role as Stella Carlin on Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, Rose made the transition to features with major roles in Vin Diesel's XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, Resident Evil; Final Chapter, John Wick: Chapter Two, and Pitch Perfect 3.

In court filings, Mueller has accused Kilimnik of having ties to Russian intelligence services, an allegation he has denied. The jury has heard how Manafort made tens of millions of dollars for political work with pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine.

Her latest movie, action thriller The Meg, opens this week.

But don't call her a hero yet.

Batwoman is coming to TV and she'll be played by an Australian. Kane is a wealthy heiress who becomes inspired by Batman and chooses to also put her wealth and resources towards a campaign to fight crime as a masked vigilante in her home of Gotham City. Though, honestly, I don't know where Doc Wertham could've gotten the idea that a single bachelor and his practically-adult ward-spending their nights traipsing around in tights and carousing with flamboyant men wearing more makeup than the Gabor sisters-were anything more than friends.
