Minnesota Vikings release veteran kicker Kai Forbath

Minnesota Vikings kicker Kai Forbath's hold on the job appeared tenuous after the team traded up to draft Auburn standout Daniel Carlson in the fifth round of this year's draft.

"That's a kick I should make", Forbath said of Saturday's missed 41-yard field goal.

A total of five roster spots were created Monday, clearing the way for new players to be added to the team before the Vikings third preseason game on Friday.

Uganda arrests U.S. citizen who assaulted hotel worker for 'disgracing Jesus'
The clip begins with Taylor jumping over the reception desk and knocking what appear to be glass items off of tables. He also berates the country, claiming he came "to help Uganda but Uganda hates Jesus".

The first kicker taken in this year's draft, Carlson made 92 of his 114 field goal tries in college, and all 198 of his extra-point attempts.

Carlson was 2-for-2 in Week 1 of the preseason, connecting on a 57-yard field goal. Forbath, who had been with the Vikings since November of 2016, made 47 of his 53 career field goals with Minnesota. However, he missed eight extra points in 1½ seasons and didn't have the leg strength the Vikings desired on kickoffs and long field goal attempts. The 30-year-old Forbath has kicked for three National Football League teams.
