Six more women accuse CBS CEO Les Moonves of sexual misconduct

Les Moonves Faces New Sexual Assault Allegations, Leaving CBS

Time's Up cautioned CBS today that "the world is watching" as the network determines what's next for CEO Les Moonves following today's latest New Yorker revelations about sexual harassment.

News of the deal emerged the same day the New Yorker published fresh claims from six women who allege Moonves exposed himself and used physical violence and intimidation. The New Yorker report raised the question of whether Moonves was forthcoming with the CBS board of directors about the existence of the criminal investigation a year ago.

Golden-Gottlieb filed a criminal complaint with the Los Angeles Police Department back in 2017; law enforcement sources told Farrow that the claims were credible, and Moonves reportedly informed select members of the CBS board months later.

EW has reached out to CBS for comment about the remarks from Time's Up, Bloom, and Griffin.

The New Yorker reported on Sunday that the additional six women said Moonves also retaliated after they rebuffed him, damaging their careers.

Moonves has denied accusations of non-consensual contact, but admitted to having had sexual interactions with three of the women.

A former senior CBS official told FOX Business in July, just after Farrow's first article about the allegations was published, that Mooves was likely to be replaced due to the seriousness of the accusations, but noted that internal candidates are "weak". She did file a criminal complaint previous year, but the LAPD couldn't pursue the case because statute of limitations had passed, despite finding her claims "credible and consistent".

Papadopoulos had initially claimed this was before he joined the campaign, though he later confirmed it was once he was on staff. The judge said there's no evidence Papadopolous had "any desire to aid Russian Federation in any way".

Moonves' allies will surely cast his exit as a corporate coup - a successful effort by Redstone to gain a tighter grip on CBS.

CBS has also negotiated an estimated $100 million settlement with Moonves, these sources said.

Moonves, in a statement to the New Yorker, acknowledged three of the encounters while maintaining that they were consensual. She claims that Moonves forced her to perform oral sex and greeted her in his office during a meeting without trousers and with an erection. She says he verbally abused her after she rejected future advances.

"In my 40 years of work, I have never before heard of such disturbing accusations", the CBS boss continued.

She said that Moonves, while an executive at the Lorimar production studio in the late 1980s, pushed her head into his lap and forced her to perform oral sex. "The actions described in this article are those of sexual assault and shame on anyone else in the corporation who knew about his crimes".

Time's Up, an organization aimed at combating sexual harassment and inequality in the workplace, released a statement Sunday urging "full transparency" from CBS on the findings of an independent investigation commissioned by the board.

He said on CNN that "these women are coming out now" because "they have been extraordinarily frustrated by what they perceive to be inaction on the part of CBS and its board".
