Patriots to sign former Browns first-rounder Coleman

Report Patriots sign WR Bennie Fowler

The New England Patriots agreed to a contract with wide receiver Corey Coleman, the NFL Network reported on Tuesday. He signed with Chicago earlier this offseason but was unable to earn a spot on the team's 53-man roster.

The 15th overall pick in 2016's draft, Coleman was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills during the preseason.

The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed RB Kenneth Farrow to the practice squad and released WR Jace Billingsley from the practice squad. He did not make the final roster and went unclaimed on waivers. Before having a short stint with the Bears, Fowler played four seasons with the Denver Broncos and racked up 698 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 56 receptions.

U.S. marks 17th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks
The bell has been rung on every anniversary since 2002, when it was presented to NY by the City of London to honor those who died. Trump has frequently been criticized for his behavior in relation to tragic events, including the September 11 attacks.

Coleman isn't the first former first-round wide receiver the Patriots have taken a flier on.

Coleman's departure to the Pats will bring up memories of other players who left the Bills for New England only to find success such as wideout Chris Hogan and cornerback Stephon Gilmore. The team later made the signing official.

Barner was originally selected in the sixth round of the 2013 draft by the Panthers. He spent the last three seasons with the Eagles, where he totaled 310 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 71 attempts across 36 games (one start).
