CBS's Jeff Fager: 60 Minutes producer out amid #MeToo claims

Julie Chen announcing the live double eviction on Big Brother

However, Moonves wasn't the only CBS honcho named and the spotlight was placed on Fager after Moonves' exit.

CBS reporter Jericka Duncan appeared on CBS This Morning to talk about the disturbing text message sent to her by ousted 60 Minutes executive producer Jeff Fager when she tried to report on his conduct at the network.

Linda Bloodworth-Thomason is the creator of the 1980s CBS hit Designing Women.

After the text was shared on air, others at CBS also said they interpreted it as a threat.

Moonves and Fager were the subjects of a recent investigation by Ronan Farrow of The New Yorker into sexual misconduct at CBS. The legendary TV writer revealed that she was producing a pilot titled Fully Clothed Non-Dancing Women and immediately became anxious when she heard that Moonves "was rumored to be a big fan of topless bars".

The original Designing Women cast included (at various intervals) Dixie Carter, Annie Potts, Meshach Taylor, Jean Smart, Delta Burke, Jan Hooks, Julia Duffy and Judith Ivey.

Henry Cavill reportedly out as Superman in DC movies
Warner Bros . has also "shifted its focus" toward producing a Supergirl origin story, says the Hollywood Reporter . Cavill had a busy summer, co-starring with Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

In August, the CBS board of directors hired two outside law firms to investigate the initial claims against Moonves, as well as other reports of sexual harassment and "cultural issues at all levels of CBS".

Bloodworth-Thomason says she continued to try to "win over" Moonves, but he turned down every pilot she wrote. She said Fager groped her at a work party. "One such note should not result in termination after 36 years, but it did", he said. I know this happened because the star is the person who told me. Moonves claimed he'd told Aiello about both these things in January, but Aiello denied this. By the end of the day on Sunday, he was officially out as CEO. Though she was working under what she describes as "the largest writing and producing contract in the history of CBS", reportedly estimated to be $45 million, the network president would not allow a single pilot of hers to be produced for seven years. She detailed her final transaction with Moonves and CBS in her THR piece.

At a tense "60 Minutes" meeting on Wednesday with Rhodes, staffers insisted on an explanation of just how Fager had so violated company policy as to warrant summary dismissal. She began to cry and stood up to go.

The announcement roiled CBS News and came right on the heels of CBS CEO Les Moonves' exit from the company. Fager told The New Yorker, "I have never discouraged anyone from going to H.R".

Incidentally, Linda Bloodworth-Thomason is now developing a Designing Women reboot, but this time she won't have to worry about Les Moonves blocking it no matter what network she pitches it to.
