Several Injured In Shooting At Bar In Southern California Says Police

A sheriff's captain says at least six people were shot late Wednesday when a suspect opened fire in a crowded Southern California bar.

Officers at the scene told the newspaper that about 30 shots had been fired.

The Ventura country fire department tweeted that they were responding to a report of shooting in the city of Thousand Oaks in South California.

Initial reports indicated that a man had opened fire with a semi-automatic gun at about 11.20pm. The deputy was said to have non-life-threatening injuries.

One officer is reported to be injured, according to local media.

A trail of blood was visible on the street at the entrance of the venue.
