Rajinikanth slams ruling AIADMK for protests against Vijay-starrer ‘Sarkar’

In Tamil Nadu

He took to Twitter and wrote in Tamil: "To protest for the removal of certain scenes from the movie and stop it from being screened after the Censor Board has certified it is against the law".

Raju said "AIADMK workers, ranging from supporters to Chief Minister (K Palaniswami)", treat Jayalalithaa as "God". Ever since its release, many AIADMK ministers and party cadres expressed their displeasure over certain scenes in the film. The police later clarified that the cops had not gone to Murugadoss' residence to arrest him as no FIR has been registered against the director.

However, recently in an interview, TTV Dhinakaran revealed that Komalavalli is not the birth name of Jayalalithaa. In that scene, he's seen throwing a mixer-grinder into a fire with the picture of the chief minister. Meanwhile, the film's director AR Murugadoss has also filed a petition and got anticipatory bail in Madras High Court. "So the issue has come to an end".

The cuts effected were "voluntary" with the approval of the Central Board of Film Certification, they said. He said the party's opposition had nothing to do with criticism of the government.

The second scene that will be edited from the movie is the director AR Murugadoss' cameo.
