Trump slaps down journalist for 'stupid' question

Jim Acosta

"We have asked this court for an immediate restraining order requiring the pass be returned to Jim, and will seek permanent relief as part of this process", CNN said in a statement.

"When you're in the White House, this is a very sacred place for me, a very special place", Trump said as he left Washington for a brief jaunt to Paris.

He also lashed out at April Ryan, a CNN commentator who doubles as a White House reporter with a network of black radio stations.

Journalists have been widely supportive of Acosta since Trump pushed him out last week.

"What a stupid question that is".

Trump said he hadn't made a decision when asked by a reporter how long Acosta would remain in the "penalty box".

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted the video, which shows Acosta asking President Donald Trump a question on Wednesday as the intern tries to take his microphone away.

"It's completely fair game for a politician to say he doesn't think a newspaper or a TV station treats him fairly. You've gotta treat the White House and the office of the presidency with respect", he added. Other journalists speculated that Acosta losing his "hard pass" access to the White House was "unprecedented", somehow forgetting Obama's war with Fox News that included spying "extensively on Fox News reporter James Rosen in 2010, collecting his telephone records, tracking his movements in and out of the State Department and seizing two days of Rosen's personal emails", according to a Department of Justice report. Alice Allison Dunnigan was the first African-American to serve as White House correspondent, which she gained access to in 1947.

Messi returns to Barcelona squad, Dembele dropped
We paid dearly for our first-half display. "Winning at the Camp Nou requires concentration and doing everything very well". The only blot for Solari was a spate of injuries which saw Casemiro, Sergio Reguilon and Nacho all forced off.

The Storyful report also says: "The video shared by Sanders appeared under an hour after the same video, with the same close-up, was posted by Infowars.com contributor Paul Joseph Watson".

"As visual journalists, we know that manipulating images is manipulating truth", said Whitney Shefte, the association's president. While President Trump has made it clear he does not respect a free press, he has a sworn obligation to protect it. Trump has repeatedly shot down suggestions that he is racist.

Many in the media industry were furious with Ms Sanders for sharing the video, including one of Mr Acosta's colleagues.

Trump told Acosta at the news conference that "CNN should be ashamed of itself, having you work for them". Stephenson said. "You didn't like the line of questioning?"

The backdrop to this new suit, of course, is Trump's antipathy for CNN and other news outlets.

In response, CNN said through its Twitter feed that Phillip's question wasn't stupid. He also went after NBC News's Peter Alexander on Wednesday, calling him "fake news". "It's what Jim, and all of his colleagues who cover the White House and the administration, do with integrity and professionalism". For instance, while Trump dismissed Dawsey's question as stupid, he went one step further with Phillip by noting "I watch you a lot" and and that she asks "a lot of stupid questions".

"You talk about somebody that's a loser; she doesn't know what the hell she's doing", Trump said of Ryan, in an unprompted diatribe.

Trump, she said, doesn't seem to appreciate that.
