Trump aide John Kelly to leave White House job

John Kelly

President Trump says White House chief of staff John Kelly will leave his job at end of the year; Eric Beach, co-chair of Great America PAC, and former OH state Senator Capri Cafaro join the debate.

But news website The Daily Caller - which has close ties to the Trump administration - reported one White House source had dismissed claims of Kelly's departure as 'absolutely untrue'.

While the two men have clashed in recent months, Trump called Kelly "a great guy". "And I appreciate his service very much".

We've heard it before, but this time John Kelly's really leaving-at least according to unidentified White House sources. Trump said Kelly's successor would be declared in the coming days. Reports that Trump wanted to replace Kelly with Ayers have dated back to 2017.

Trump's second chief of staff - he fired Reince Priebus via Twitter in July 2017 - was lauded by House Speaker Paul Ryan, who said in a statement that Kelly "was a force for order, clarity and good sense".

There have been persistent reports for several days that Mr Kelly was under pressure to go.

Bucks get Hill in three-team trade
Dellavedova, 28, has been limited to 12 games this season due to an ankle injury and is averaging a career-low 1.7 points. Sexton, the No. 8 overall pick in the June draft, has already heard stories about Dellavedova.

"We'll be announcing who will be taking John's place - it might be on an interim basis".

Trump did not immediately name Kelly's replacement but said he planned to "in the next day or so". "That is what the president needs by his side over the next two years", Schwartz claimed it wouldn't make any difference.

It is the second top-level personnel change Trump has made since the mid-term elections on November 6, after Attorney General Jeff Sessions resigned last month at Trump's request.

The rocky relationship between Trump and Kelly, 68, a retired Marine Corps general, has been widely reported. These include keeping something of a check on access to the Oval Office and keeping control of the messaging from day to day.

Trump began circumventing numerous policies and protocols Kelly enacted. All the things that Donald Trump supposedly doesn't like about Kelly's style are the things most presidents take for granted. As Trump spoke to the media in a visit to Trump Tower in New York, Kelly sat by the side, grimacing. Bolton had criticized Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen during a discussion about the border, and Kelly stormed out of the West Wing after their profanity-laced argument. He said some of those eligible for protections under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals were 'lazy.' . Along the way, he has drawn a number of detractors who have found him focused more on promoting himself than on tackling the job at hand.

Kelly weathered criticism for his handling of domestic violence allegations that forced out staff secretary Rob Porter in early 2018.
