After Comey firing, Federal Bureau of Investigation probed whether president was Russian agent

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump dance at the Freedom Ball in Washington DC

The FBI opened counterintelligence files on four separate Trump associates in late July 2016, Comey told Congress. Trump himself was not under investigation, though the Times reports the senior FBI official grew concerned the former real estate magnate was working on behalf of Russian Federation following some of his Russia-friendly comments during the campaign. An FBI spokeswoman and a spokesman for the special counsel's office both declined to comment.

Giuliani also tried to shrug off the revelation accidentally made by former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort's lawyers in an unredacted court filing that Manafort had apparently shared internal campaign polling with a colleague with reported ties to Russian intelligence.

Trump has disputed the allegations from the dossier, which was funded by the Clinton campaign and DNC.

No evidence has been revealed publicly asserting that Trump had secret contact with or was influenced by Russian government officials, and spokespeople for both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and special counsel's office refused to comment.

The entire investigation was taken over several days later when special counsel Robert Mueller was appointed to investigate Russia's attempts to influence the 2016 election as well as possible ties between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign. Prosecutors claim that, in a money-laundering case involving NY real estate, Veselnitskaya lied about her links to Russian intelligence.

Arnautovic moved to London Stadium for a club-record £20m fee from Stoke in July 2017 and his contract runs until 2022. They paid £20 million for him, which is nothing in the current market.

The investigation the FBI opened into Trump also had a criminal aspect, which has always been publicly known: whether his firing of Comey constituted obstruction of justice. "Put up or shut up", Giuliani said.

The investigation has not concluded and the public has not been notified of the final results.

The hearing marks the latest step in Cohen's transformation from a trusted legal adviser to the president to a public antagonist who has cooperated extensively against him.

"Of course we have to see (the report) before it goes to Congress", Giuliani said.

Giuliani said it is unclear to the legal team whether acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker or Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is now in charge of the investigation. Until then, the professional attorney can only wait amidst his doubts to see if Mueller "puts up or shuts up".
