Because he says without saying anything, they're creating distrust in the community, and with no suspect caught, police should want people to know what's going on, and to come forward if they know something. None of the employees at the hospital were aware that she was pregnant.

"On behalf of the Tribe, I am deeply shocked and horrified at the treatment of one of our members.

I haven't been able to sleep good at night because of what occurred here", Angela Gomez, a Hacienda patient's mother, said.

Phoenix police investigators are testing DNA samples from men who work at a Phoenix nursing facility in response to a vegetative patient giving birth there last week, according to KPHO.

"From what I've been told she was moaning". As a company, we welcome this development in the ongoing police investigation.

The facility is now under criminal investigation after a woman went into labor in her bed and delivered a healthy baby boy on December 29, 2018 at the care facility for people with intellectual disabilities.

Hacienda chief executive Bill Timmons has also resigned amid the scandal.

A female patient living at a Hacienda HealthCare facility reportedly gave birth December 29 although the staff was unaware the woman was pregnant.

"I can't believe someone would bathe her daily for nine months, never know she wasn't having her period, she wasn't growing in her mid-section", one of the woman's former caregivers told ABC15, which did not reveal his or her identity.

A Phoenix police spokesman said that "the matter is now under investigation" but declined to give any further details of the case.

Last week the state's department of economic security sent investigators to the facility for health and safety checks.

In a statement, board member Gary Orman said the facility "will accept nothing less than a full accounting of this absolutely horrifying situation".

Gov. Doug Ducey's office has called the situation "deeply troubling".

The Hacienda facility serves infants, children and young adults who are "medically fragile" or have developmental disabilities, according to the website.

In the wake of the reports, the Arizona Department of Health Services said new safety measures have been implemented.

The company, which says it is cooperating with police, provides services ranging from day programs to long-term residential care for more than 2,500 patients annually. In 2013, a male employee was found to have made sexually explicit remarks to patients, though no physical or sexual abuse allegations were made and the employee was sacked.

"We are aware of this situation and are actively working with local law enforcement in their criminal investigation", the department said in a statement.

INSIDER also uncovered state records of two other disturbing reports at the facility.
