Senate Republicans' 1st bill on Israel boycotts divides Democrats

Marco Rubio: Rashida Tlaib's Dual Loyality Suggestion 'anti-Semitic'

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed legislation to end a partial shutdown of the Treasury Department and some other agencies, but without any money for President Donald Trump's border wall.

"We won't be opening until it's solved", Trump said during a Rose Garden press conference Friday. "It's about the fact that McConnell has the power to bring up the bipartisan House-passed bills today and end this shutdown and we need to make that the first order of business", Van Hollen tweeted.

More than 800,000 federal employees are impacted by the shutdown, including more than 420,000 employees who are on unpaid furlough, and 380,000 "essential" bureaucrats working without pay. Democrats insist the wall is immoral, and Trump says it is imperative.

Tlaib, a Palestinian-American who recently made headlines for declaring on video Democrats are "gonna impeach the mother****er", referring to President Trump, is one of several radical leftists who ran for election in 2018 with anti-Israel or anti-Semitic sentiments.

The Senate voted unanimously last month on spending bills that would keep the government open, with an understanding from the White House that Trump would sign off on the bill. Although conservative allies of the president are urging him to declare a national emergency to build his proposed border wall with military funding, he isn't expected to do that in his remarks.

Casey's Republican colleague, Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey, has suggested that Democrats bear some responsibility for the impasse. One GOP aide said Republicans could still move nominees, which are not subject to a 60-vote threshold to beat a filibuster.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said Trump asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the meeting whether she would agree to fund his wall.

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy questioned Rubio's assertion that Democrats voted against moving forward with the bill due to a "significant [number] of Senate Democrats [who] now support BDS" and that the party's leaders "want to avoid a floor vote that reveals that". You've got to be occupied with trying to get the government open so that people can get paid, for crying out loud.

DRC Catholic Church rejects vote result
During his campaign he promised a return to the rule of law, to fight the "gangrene" of corruption and to bring peace to the east. Among the challenges he would face is an Ebola outbreak in the east of the country.

Sen. McConnell, meanwhile, voiced his support for the president's plan in a news release. Cory Booker, Oregon Sen.

It states it would 'increase protections for state and local governments in the United States that decide to divest from, prohibit investment in, and restrict contracting with companies knowingly engaged in commerce-related or investment-related BDS activity targeting Israel, ' according to Senate Republicans. Jeff Merkley and Delaware Sen. "They are also racist, aimed at keeping brown Palestinians down".

McConnell spokesman Don Stewart said in response, "It would be a stunning reversal for Sen".

Tlaib, a Palestinian-American, tweeted about the bill's supporters that "They forgot what country they represent".

Ohio Republican Rep. Brad Wenstrup backed the president's demand for a wall.

"I nearly never use these types of procedures, but this is extraordinary to be meeting like this while a good part of the government is shut down", Cardin said Monday in an interview.

"He's put himself in this box".
