Nokia 8.1 Plus is the company’s most modern-looking phone yet

Nokia 8.1 Plus with hole-in-display design and dual-camera setup leaks

That back does have dual cameras with ZEISS lenses and a fingerprint scanner at the bottom. This has been popularized by Samsung's Infinity-O display, which is basically just a circular hole in the upper corner of the display so the front-facing camera (and other sensors) can be positioned.

Sure, the punch hole selfie camera opens up a bit of space on the screen, but its not a change that will make us go “wow”. In the latest move, the e-commerce giant has kickstarted the Nokia days sale including two of HMD Global's popular phones - Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Nokia 5.1 Plus.

Just before Halloween of past year, HMD Global launched a new smartphone in China called the Nokia X7.

Best Nokia phones - what are your options? In my Nokia 8.1 review, I take a look at a dual camera Nokia phone with Android Pie on board. The Nokia 6.1 originally shipped with a price tag of $269, and it is likely that HMD Global will offer Nokia 6.2 at a comparable price range.

The Nokia 8.1 Plus should have a 6.22-inch display with a full HD+ resolution.

The usage of hole punch camera will result in high screen-to-body ratio, although don't expect the bezels to be as thin as the ones on the iPhone XS or XS Max.

The original tip-off also pointed to the Snapdragon 845 processor, a 10nm chip that is powerful and efficient, and featured in almost all current flagships. On the software front, the phone features Android One certification and has recently started receiving Android Pie update. OZO Sound uses algorithms and the phone's microphones to capture 360-degree spatial sound. But now, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is being made available via offline stores as well. HMD Global should launch it in other markets including the USA and Europe in the months following its release in China.
