Kyler Murray is about to Create an NFL-MLB Bidding War

Report: Oakland A's to Meet With Kyler Murray to Discuss Entering NFL Draft

He was to play quarterback at Oklahoma in 2018, then join the A's. The A's drafted Murray in the first round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft in June.

Whether the A's are willing to give Murray a major league deal or meet his financial demands remained unclear after the meeting.

The A's met with the Oklahoma Sooners QB and Heisman Trophy victor to persuade him to play baseball instead of entering the National Football League draft.

If Murray declares for the NFL draft in 2019 or 2020 and is a first-round pick he would be the first player to be a first-round pick in both the NFL and MLB drafts.

The desperate plea comes as Mrs May faces the worst defeat a sitting government has ever suffered in the Commons. But former Brexit minister Dominic Raab said Britain should be prepared to leave with no arrangement in place.

According to multiple reports, Murray is asking for a significant increase in guaranteed money from Oakland - as he should, given he has incredible leverage right now - although the number is in flux.

If there was any doubt, there shouldn't be: Kyler Murray has the attention of Major League Baseball. The A's reportedly are expecting Murray to enter the draft, hence the meeting.

Last week, the Athletics were dealt a huge blow when they found out that Kyler Murray would likely forego playing baseball for them and enter his name into the NFL Draft instead. While a decision on baseball vs. football is not expected Sunday, according to sources, Murray's football prospects seemingly have grown strong enough to compel Oakland to re-recruit the 21-year-old.

For that to happen, Murray would be a part of the A's 40-man roster from the start while beginning his minor-league career in the lower levels of the A's system. The A's understand the allure of football, which has become clear in recent months as Murray developed from an athletic but slight quarterback to a potential first-round pick.
